Artist and Educator, Kay Thomas, visited Southside High School April 4 – 7, for an Arts-In-Education residency. Thomas worked with Ms. Jennifer Dickie’s art classes, teaching students about monuments and sculptures. Thomas used unconventional materials to demonstrate methods of creating 3-dimentional artwork. The Arts in Education program is provided through a partnership with Batesville and Southside School Districts and the Batesville Area Arts Council. This program is also supported in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, which is an agency of the Arkansas Department of Heritage and the National Endowment for the Arts.
