The Batesville Area Arts Council is pleased to present Ambiguity: Artowork by Lisa Krannichfeld. The exhibition will be on display at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 226 E Main St, through November 19, 2016.
Lisa Krannichfeld was born and raised in Little Rock, AR in an interesting cultural mix of a Chinese family living in the American South. Her experiences growing up in these two intermixing cultures and their traditions have greatly influenced her work, which primarily focuses on the woman as its subject. These portraits celebrate ambiguity in emotion and intention with loose ink and watercolor washes; unshackling categorization. Lisa’s work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions nationally and internationally including shows throughout he U.S., Asia, Europe, and Australia. Most recently, she received a Juror Award in the 28th Annual National Juried Exhibition at the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council in Texas. She has also received the Delta Award in the prestigious 57th Annual Delta Juried Exhibition showcasing contemporary American art from Southern artists.
The gallery reception for this exhibition will be held on Friday, November 18, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., with a brief artist talk at 6 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. This exhibition is sponsored by Citizens Bank. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
