Batesville Regional Airport groundbreaking Ceremony was held at 9:00 March 19, 2014

Batesville Regional Airport groundbreaking Ceremony was held at 9:00 March 19, 2014. Congressman Rick Crawford and Mayor Rick Elumbaugh with many others participated.

The new hangar will have six bays measuring 48 feet wide by 41 feet deep, capable of housing twin-engine aircraft.

The airport received a federal grant to add security fencing to the west half of the airport grounds and a 1,000 feet of safety runoff area to the ends of the big runway. There was work also done on the large runway’s sides to bring it into compliance to FAA standards as far as the landscape grading measuring 250 feet from the center-line outward. Federal and State grants have supplied the majority of the funding for the airport project.
