Agriculture Hall of Fame solicits nominations
LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame is accepting nominees for induction into the class of 2009.
“We will accept nominations from anyone,” says Cal McCastlain, chairman of the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame. “We seek to honor those worthy individuals who have made a profound impact on Arkansas agriculture and have contributed to improving the quality of life for rural Arkansans.”
The Agriculture Hall of Fame was established 22 years ago to recognize Arkansans who are, or have been, pioneers in the state’s largest industry, while spotlighting their contributions to the state’s economic development.
A total of 115 men and women have previously been inducted into the Agriculture Hall of Fame which is sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureau and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. It is located in the Farm Bureau Center in Little Rock.
“It’s our intention to honor those individuals who have played meaningful roles in advancing agriculture in the state,” says McCastlain. “Paying tribute to the men and women who have dedicated their lives to this cause is worthwhile.”

Arkansas Farm Bureau is a nonprofit, private advocacy organization of more than 220,000 families throughout the state working to improve farm and rural life.
