    Chamber Orchestra Kremlin Concert at Harding Tonight Feb 9

    SEARCY, Ark. — Moscow’s Chamber Orchestra Kremlin will perform at Harding University tonight as scheduled at 7 p.m. in the Administration Auditorium as part of the Classical Lyceum Series.

    The first 150 people to purchase tickets will receive a voucher for a free CD. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in the music department office in the Reynolds Building, Monday-Friday from 1-4 p.m. The first 150 people can pick up their ticket and CD voucher in person, or mail a check and self-addressed, stamped envelope to HU Box 10767, 915 E. Market Ave., Searcy, AR, 72149. CD vouchers can be exchanged at the concert and are available on a first come, first served basis.

    Since its formation in 1991, Chamber Orchestra Kremlin has performed more than 1,300 concerts in Russia and 24 countries around the world. With more than 30 albums recorded, the orchestra has received widespread international acclaim and awards such as the Diapason d’Or in France, the Critics Choice in London’s Gramophone and in the New York Times, Record of the Year in Hong Kong and others. Of about 900 compositions in the orchestra’s repertoire, more than 20 were written especially for the orchestra by composers from Russia, Europe and the
    U.S.

    The 17-member orchestra, under the direction of Misha Rachlevsky, will perform selections by composers Edward Elgar, Dmitri Shostakovich,J.S. Bach and Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
