Distinguished Lecture Series continues at Harding in Searcy

2009-10 Distinguished Lecture Series continues at Harding

SEARCY, Ark. – The American Studies Institute 2009-10 Distinguished
Lecture Series will continue at Harding University Thursday, Nov. 12,
at 7:30 p.m. in Benson Auditorium with Cynthia Cooper, former MCI vice
    president and chief audit executive.

Cooper was named one of Time Magazine’s Persons of the Year in 2002
for her role in uncovering the WorldCom fraud. As vice president and
chief audit executive for MCI, she and her team exposed the largest
corporate fraud case in history to date. In addition, she helped MCI
move forward and successfully emerge from bankruptcy. In July 2004,
she left MCI to launch her own consulting firm, The CooperGroup. With
more than 20 years experience, she is a consultant, internationally
recognized speaker and author of Extraordinary Circumstances.

The event is free and open to the public, and seating is available on
a first come, first served basis. No tickets are necessary. For more
information, contact the American Studies Institute office at
    501-279-4497.

Co-sponsored by the Young America’s Foundation, College of Business
    Administration and College of Nursing.

Harding University College of Nursing is an approved provider of
continuing nursing education by Arkansas Nurses Association, an
accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s
Commission on Accreditation. Nurses may receive 1.5 CEs for attending
    this presentation free of charge.

Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,600 students
from all 50 states and 49 foreign countries. It is the largest private
university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than
any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains
campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France/Switzerland, Greece,
    Italy and Zambia.
