    Laura Ingraham to speak at Harding University Feb. 16

    SEARCY, Ark.

    Ingraham hit the airwaves with her self-titled show in 2001 and can be heard on more than 325 stations coast to coast. She is also an author, columnist and television commentator.

    Her latest book, Power to the People, debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller List and discusses traditional family values, education and American patriotism. She is a regular Fox News contributor and has filled in as guest host for Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.

    A graduate of Dartmouth College and University of Virginia School of Law, Ingraham worked as a speechwriter during the final two years of the Reagan Administration and served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas before becoming a defense attorney at one of the nation’s premier law firms.

    The event is free and open to the public, and seating is available on a first come, first served basis. No tickets are necessary. For more information, contact the American Studies Institute office at 501-279-4497. Co-sponsored by the Young America’s Foundation.

    Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,600 students from all 50 states and 49 foreign countries. It is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France/Switzerland, Greece, Italy and Zambia.

      The American Studies Institute 2009-10 Distinguished Lecture Series will continue at Harding University Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Benson Auditorium with nationally syndicated radio host Laura Ingraham.
