Lincoln Honors Arkansas Adoption Hero

Washington – U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) today saluted Christie Erwin of Little Rock as a Congressional “Angel in Adoption” for her work on behalf of the adoption community in Arkansas.

Lincoln nominated Erwin for the recognition.  Erwin is currently the Co-Chair of the Pulaski County Adoption Coalition and the Coordinator for the Pulaski County Heart Gallery, as well as a founding member of The C.A.L.L. (Children of Arkansas Loved for a Lifetime).  She just published a book entitled “The Middle Mom: How to Grow Your Heart By Giving It Away,” the story of her experiences as a foster parent.

“Christie has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of so many young Arkansans, and I’m delighted to see her receive this recognition,” said Lincoln.

The Angels in Adoption campaign raises awareness about adoption by honoring individuals for their efforts in helping children and families through adoption. The campaign is sponsored by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI).

CCAI was created in 2001 by the bicameral, bipartisan Congressional Coalition on Adoption, of which Lincoln is a member.  CCAI is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to raising awareness about the thousands of foster children in this country and the millions of orphans around the world in need of permanent, safe, and loving homes.
