Mike Watson joins Ozarka College Foundation Board

The Ozarka College Foundation, a 501(c) organization that provides support for the Ozarka College mission, recently added Mike Watson of Ash Flat as a board member, bringing the total to 19.

Watson will serve as a Sharp County representative.

“I believe that the opportunity that Ozarka College provides our communities in North Central Arkansas in invaluable,” said Watson. “I took my first college course in 1991 at Ozarka, and they set me on a path that guided me through the rest of my life. I can never repay what the teachers and staff at Ozarka College have done for me.”

He has owned Mike Watson State Farm Agency in Highland since January 2011. Prior to opening his own business, he coached for 12 years at Melbourne High School. A native of Melbourne and Izard County, Watson received his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Arkansas and his Master of Science in Education from Arkansas State University.

“The Foundation Board is thrilled to have a dynamic and dedicated member in Mike Watson,” said Director of Advancement Suellen Davidson. “I have known Mike for many years and know he believes in the mission of Ozarka College and the Ozarka College Foundation.”

He has been married to his wife, Lesha, for three years and the couple have three children; Abbey, who is 19 and an Ozarka College student, Andrew, 16, and Will, 12.
