Upon further testing and consultation with the Arkansas Department of Health, it was later determined the patient was not at increased risk for Ebola.
“Our staff performed professionally and in a manner we can all be proud of,” said David Deaton, Ozark Health Chief Executive Officer. “Based on the heightened awareness regarding the Ebola situation, we did not want to take unnecessary risks and, therefore, implemented measures appropriate for the situation. Contrary to several news reports, Ozark Health Medical Center was never placed under ‘lock-down’, though, enhanced precautionary measures, including the use of personal protective equipment and isolating potentially contaminated areas, were implemented.” Questions regarding this incident should be directed to David Deaton, Chief Executive Officer at 501 -745-7000
