The 3rd Annual Advocate of the Year Dinner

Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services provides free education, counseling, and support to more than 1300 family and friend caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Now in our 30th year of operation, our programs have grown to host three educational symposiums for family and professional caregivers on the latest information regarding Alzheimer’s.

The Advocate of the Year Dinner was established in 2013 to honor our beloved Executive Director of 22 years, Phyllis Watkins. Bob Shell, CEO of Baldwin & Shell Construction Company was named our 2nd Advocate of the Year. This year will be honoring three outstanding advocates; Sharon Heflin – Outstanding Advocate of the Year, Melissa Longing – Outstanding Volunteer Advocate, and Jana Wineland – Outstanding Support Group Facilitator.
All proceeds allow Alzheimer’s Arkansas to continue to provide free programs and services, and specifically, help fund the Phyllis Watkins Endowed Family Assistance Program. This program provides financial assistance to Arkansas caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s for respite care, home modifications, and much more. Since the program’s inception in 2008, more than $72,000 has been awarded to 288 caregivers. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support the needs of 450 people in 2015!

Individual tickets are $100 and tables of 10 are $1,250.00 Sponsorships are also available, but naming opportunities are limited.
