Boozman Statement on Senate Passage of Short-Term Funding Bill

U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) released the following statement marking Senate passage of a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government through Dec. 9, 2016:

“This short-term funding bill gives Congress additional time to complete the appropriations process while dedicating funds for pressing needs. The continuing resolution includes funding to help address the nationwide opioid and heroin epidemic and much-needed resources to fight the spread of Zika—a serious health concern that deserves immediate attention.

Additionally, since this bill contains the Military Construction and Department of Veterans Affairs appropriations bill for the next fiscal year in its entirety, we were able to provide record funding for veterans.

As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I remain committed to passage of the remaining 11 funding bills for this coming fiscal year—each of which have been approved by the committee already. I will work with my colleagues to achieve this goal when the Senate meets in November.”
