Boozman Supports Resolution Recognizing Benefits of 4-H

U.S. Senator John Boozman cosponsored a bipartisan resolution in support of 4-H and its recently launched “Grow True Leaders” campaign. The measure, which unanimously passed the Senate earlier this week, recognizes the benefits of the national 4-H program for America’s youth and the potential for the organization to reach a broader, more diverse population.

“4-H is a wonderful organization that impacts the lives of so many young Arkansans. My three daughters benefitted immensely from their participation in 4-H, as have countless individuals across the country,” Boozman said. “I am proud to support 4-H as it develops future generations of leaders through its True Leaders initiative. 4-H plays such a vital role in many rural communities across America and the True Leaders campaign will help expand the organization’s values and principles into every corner of Arkansas. It is important to recognize the tremendous work that 4-H does in developing and cultivating valuable skills and shaping the lives of young people.”

4-H is the youth development program of the Cooperative Extension System of land-grant universities and is the largest youth development organization in the nation. More than 140,000 Arkansas youth have participated in 4-H’s mission of creating sustainable community change through activities centered around citizenship, healthy living and science. 4-H’s “Grow True Leaders” campaign is aimed at engaging more young people with the program’s positive, hands-on experiences in order to develop true leaders for the future.

Boozman spoke at the National 4-H Congressional Breakfast on Capitol Hill earlier this month.
