Boozman to Participate in Event Announcing Millions for U.S. Marshals Museum

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman will join U.S. Representative Steve Womack in a check presentation to the U.S. Marshals Museum on Saturday, May 7th in Fort Smith. The multi-million dollar check from the United States Mint comes from sales of the U.S. Marshals Service Commemorative Coin.

Boozman first introduced the United States Marshals Service 225th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act while he served in the U.S. House of Representatives back in 2009. Deputy Marshals who were inspired by the Museum project brought the idea to Boozman and helped write the original proposed legislation. In 2012, Congressman Steve Womack led the effort to finally pass the legislation in the House of Representatives, while Senator Boozman sponsored the bill in the Senate.
