Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement in response to the Washington-based Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) ads attacking him for his support of a plan to save Medicare:
“Nancy Pelosi wants to be Speaker again and believes attacking me will help her get there. I am doing what I was elected to do: reduce our crushing debt so America can create jobs. It is not surprising but shameful nonetheless that her vision for America is based on scaring seniors through deception. The status quo leads to the bankruptcy of Medicare.
“I am committed to saving Medicare and keeping our promises to seniors. For those 55 and over, the House budget makes no changes whatsoever. For those younger than 55, we want to give Arkansans the freedom to choose a health plan like Members of Congress now receive. The bottom line is that Medicare is going bankrupt. If you are for the status quo with regard to Medicare, you’re on the side of the elimination of Medicare as we know it.”
