Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after learning of Levon Helm’s passing:
“Levon Helm’s legacy is well-established, and his family is in my thoughts and prayers. Inspired as a child by Sonny Boy Williamson’s radio show in Helena, he went on to become one of the greatest vocalists and drummers of all time, earning a well-deserved place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a core member of The Band. You could hear a little bit of Arkansas in his distinctive voice every time he sang. He will be greatly missed.”
