Handcrafted Evening in the Park at the Ozark Folk Center

Creativity and craftsmanship are fine Ozark traditions. The crafts people at the Ozark Folk Center State Park continue this tradition by creating fine, functional and decorative handmade items in their workshops located in the park.

Saturday, July 16, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., the Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village will be hosting an evening Open House. Admission to the Craft Village is free for this evening event. There is plenty of parking in the lower lot and our shuttle will run visitors to the Village on the top of the hill.

“There is a special magic to the Craft Village during the evening hours,” said Jeanette Larson, Craft Director. “Soft breezes blow away the heat of the day and everybody seems to relax. Our handcrafted evening open house gives us a chance to share that wonderful time with everyone.”

During the Handcrafted Evening, resident crafts people will share a side of their working studios not seen during the regular day. Take time to talk with working crafters about how they learned their skills and where they find their inspiration. Learn about the crafts people’s tools and their workshops, and buy unique handcrafted items directly from the folks who are making them. Handcrafted evening in the park is a relaxed, informal, quiet event.
The Evening Concert in the Ozark Folk Center State Park Auditorium is $12.00 for adults or $7.00 for children 6 to 12, children under 6 are free. Tickets can be purchased during the day at the General Store, Gift Shop, and the Administration front desk or after 6:00 p.m. in the box office located in the auditorium.

You can visit the Craft Village before the concert, during intermission or after the music for a truly wonderful evening. Make a weekend out of your visit with a stay in the comfortable Cabins at Dry Creek at the park. You can book online at www.OzarkFolkCenter.com or call 800-264-3655 for your rooming needs or more information about this event or other events at the park.
