Senator Mark Pryor Welcomes Summer Interns

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Mark Pryor today announced that twelve students have begun their five week summer internships in his Washington, D.C. and Little Rock offices.

During the month of June, they will be assisting Senator Pryor with constituent services, legislative activities, communications, and administrative responsibilities. Each intern in D.C. also spends one day a week volunteering at Food and Friends, an organization that provides meals to people suffering from medical hardships.

“I appreciate the hard work and diligence of these young Arkansans. This exciting experience provides them with firsthand insight into the political process,” said Pryor.  “My hope is that this opportunity increases their interest in the legislative process while encouraging them to participate in public service in the future.”

The following students are interning in Pryor’s Washington, D.C. office:

Georgeanne Carpenter, 21, graduated from West Memphis High School in 2006. She is a senior journalism and political science major at the University of Arkansas.

Chris Chunn, 22, graduated from North Little Rock High School in 2006. A senior at the University of Arkansas, he is majoring in finance.

Kyle Clark, 22, graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School in 2005. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in May, 2009 with a degree in accounting.

Lexie Conduff, 21, graduated from Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. A senior at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, she is a majoring in English.

Diego Fernandez, 20, graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School in 2007. A junior at Davidson College, he is majoring in political science with a concentration in international studies.

Chase Grounds, 21, graduated from North Little Rock High School in 2006. A senior at the University of Arkansas, he is majoring in finance.

William Klein, 21, graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 2006. He is a senior finance major at the University of Arkansas.

Daniel Kleine, 20, graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School in 2007. A junior at the University of Arkansas, he is an accounting major.

Sarah Penick, 21, graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 2006. A senior at the University of Arkansas, she is an early childhood education major.

Jacob White, 20, graduated from Russellville High School in 2007. He is a junior international relations and Middle Eastern affairs major at the University of Arkansas.

The following students are interning in his Little Rock, AR office:

Mark Hammons, 21, graduated from Wilber D. Mills University Studies in Little Rock in 2006. A senior at Georgetown University, he studies psychology.

Jay Robins, 21, graduated from Lake Side High School in Hot Springs in 2006. A senior at the University of Arkansas, he is a public relations major and political science minor.
