Are you looking for a way to create your own handcrafted holiday gifts? The Ozark Folk Center State Park offers Handmade Christmas Folk School Nov. 14-21.
“This November, give yourself the gift of a new skill. You can learn how to make gifts that your friends and family will treasure,” said Jeanette Larson, Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Director. “Our hands-on classes are a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit.”
These are small, comfortable, fun classes where you learn hands-on Ozark heritage crafts and skills. The maximum number of students in any class is five and registration deadline is Nov. 10.
The following classes will be offered during our Handmade Christmas Folk School:
- November 14, 2015 Leather working – Bracelets, taught by Doris Panicci
- November 14, 2015 Felted Sculpture – taught by Diana Wallace
- November 14, 2015 Locker Hooking – taught by Jeanette Larson
- November 14, 2015 Natural Rainbows in Wool – Shetland Colors Taught by shepherd and fiber artist Nancy Barnett
- November 14, 2015 Off Loom Weaving, taught by Nancy Barnett
- November 15, 2015 Leather Journal Cover taught by Doris Panicci
- November 15, 2015 Spin with a bunny taught by Nancy Barnett
- November 15 – 16, 2015 Learn to Weave on a Triangle Loom taught by Sue Self
- November 15 – 16, 2015, Natural Dyeing in the Ozarks taught by Diana Wallace
- November 15 – 16, 2015, Soapmaking – Clean and Natural This class is full
- November 16, 2015 – Make a vintage leather purse taught by Doris Panicci
- November 16 – 18, 2015 Reed Basket Weaving taught by Sharon Fernimen
- November 17 – 18, 2015 Beginning Leather Working taught by Janice Clark
- November 17 – 18, 2015 Basic Letterpress Printing taught by Troy Odom
- November 17 – 19, 2015 Wheel Thrown Pottery Taught by Judi Munn
- November 18, 2015 Tatting, traditional lace making Taught by Melody Conatser
- November 19 – 21, 2015 Learn to Work With Draft Equines taught by Janice Clark of Buffalo Spirit Ranch
