Stone County Angel Tree Program

More than 250 Stone County Children are looking forward to a “Merry Christmas” this year.  They are counting on the continued generosity of the community.  Trees are decorated at local banks with the names of children whose parents need just a little help during the holidays.

The Christmas angel program had its beginning in 1989 thanks to the combined efforts of the Stone County Department of Human Services staff and the Mountain View Optimist Club.

Each year the program has grown until other organizations such as “Shop With a Cop”  and The Officer Santa program have  stepped up to assist in meeting the needs of the children.  Families participating in the angel program have agreed to only participate in one program in order that more families may have their needs met.

Stone County DHS Administrator, Jane Shipman asks for your continued help for the children.  Decorated trees are located at Centennial Bank, and Centennial Branch Bank, Citizens, First National Bank of Izard County, First Security, First Service, and Ozark Heritage Bank.  Children’s names, ages, size and wish are listed on the gift tag.   Suggested price for the gift is $30.00.

Purchase the gift and return to the location where the tag was obtained or to the Stone County DHS office by December 16th.

We appreciate your generosity throughout the years.
