43rd Annual Greers Ferry Lake & Little Red River Shoreline Cleanup Sept 8th

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 8 to participate in the Greers Ferry Lake & Little Red River Annual Cleanup. This event, originated by Carl Garner 43 years ago, is still an important part of maintaining the clean, natural environment that draws so many visitors to this unique area. The present economy and reduced funding make volunteer participation even more critical for cleanup success!

Volunteer help is needed to pick up trash along the shoreline and camping and recreation areas. The Corps of Engineers will arrange collection of the trash bags at dropoff areas. Party barges are needed to transport volunteers to assigned shoreline areas. If you have a party barge to volunteer, please call the Corps of Engineers at 501-362-2416 to arrange an assigned area. Barges are used only for volunteer transport, not trash hauling. For general questions please call Director Ross Moore at the Greers Ferry Lake & Little Red River Association at 501-745-6101, or toll free at 888-490-4357.  Please see attached PDF entitled “IMPORTANT Cleanup Info from Greers Ferry Lake Association and Little Red River Association.

Monetary donations to cover expenses also greatly appreciated. Checks can be made payable to the Lake and River Shoreline Cleanup and mailed to Greers Ferry Lake & Little Red River Association, P.O. Box 1170, Fairfield Bay, AR, 72088.

Contributors and cleanup volunteers will be treated to a free lunch of BBQ sandwiches, beans, and coleslaw catered by J.R.’s Hickory House of Greers Ferry beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entertainment is also being scheduled. We hope to see you there!!
