Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge’s Office to Hold Community Events in Conway County

MORRILTON – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge’s office will hold a mobile office, prescription drug take back and Digital You senior presentation in Conway County on Tuesday, February 14.

“My staff assisted constituents in all 75 counties with the mobile office initiative in each of the last two years,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “Last year, I expanded our community outreach programs to bring even more educational opportunities to constituents, in their neighborhoods. I want to bring the Attorney General’s office to all Arkansans, without having to drive to downtown Little Rock.”

During the Attorney General Mobile Office, staff members will assist constituents with consumer-related issues in filing consumer complaints and providing information about scams, identity theft, fraud and other protections from 10 a.m. to noon at the T.C. Vaughan Senior Adult Center. During that time, authorities from Conway County Sheriff Mike Smith’s office will also collect prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, pet medicines, medicated ointments and lotions, inhalers, liquid medicines in glass or leak-proof containers and medicine samples as part of a prescription drug take back event.

Meanwhile, community educators will also present the Digital You program to senior citizens. Digital You is a comprehensive educational program created by AT&T and Common Sense Media to offer tools, tips, guidance and education for people of all levels of online experience to learn more about how to have a safe and secure online experience.

From 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the T.C. Vaughan Senior Adult Center, seniors and older adults who are digital newcomers will be given tips and tricks to learn how to use mobile devices, navigate the internet, recognize scams, keep private information secure, back up data and more so that they can be empowered online.
