Arkansas Craft School Announces Session 2 Community Craft Classes

Session 2 of Arkansas Craft School Community Classes will begin the week of January 6, and will run through February 24, 2015. Classes will be held at the Craft School’s Artisan Studios at 110 East Main Street; conveniently located right off the Square and next door to the Arkansas Craft Guild, and at Ozarka College’s Mountain View campus.

Weekly Pottery Classes will held on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. beginning January 8 and running through February 24 The sensuous art of making with clay is thrilling and rewarding. Taught by local ceramic artist, David Dahlstedt who knows just how to free your creative spirit. Students learn to throw on the potter’s wheel, and improve techniques that they already possess. Clay is available for purchase at cost to students, and completed work can be fired in the Craft School’s pottery kiln. Tuition for the class will be $280.00, plus materials fees according to student use of clay and glazes.

The mesmerizing magic of fire and working with molten glass cannot be compared. Maria Smith is offering a weekly Glass Bead Making – Open Studio, beginning Tuesday January 6 and running through February 24, from 1:30 – 4:30. Maria will be demonstrating her skills and helping you to learn and perfect the basic techniques of glass bead making. Maria learned her impeccable bead making skills from Sage Holland and Beau Anderson, two of our treasured and respected teachers, who will be back in April to offer several awesome new classes. Stay tuned. Tuition for this 8-week class will be $280.00 + materials fee .

Scholarships for tuition are available to financially qualifying students.
