Title: Arkansas Craft School Begins Regular Season Programming With Photography Workshop April 6 & 7
Location: in the field, and at Ozarka College in Mountain View.
Description: The Arkansas Craft School kicks off its regular season programming on April 6 & 7, with a class in Basic Digital Photography, taught by Ed Alexander, known for his stunning nature-themed photographs. A retired ASU music instructor, Ed’s photography work is featured in collections at colleges, in offices, hospitals, restaurants, publications, and private homes throughout the country. During the class, students will be provided knowledge in the basic elements of digital photography, including subject selection, composition, use of light, depth of field, and color. Also included will be the mechanics of digital camera settings including shutter speed, f-stop, focus, ISO, white balance and camera maintenance. Image storage, photo processing, and printing through Adobe Photoshop Elements will be addressed as well. Students will receive hands-on field experience with one-on-one instruction and classroom critiques of photos. Students will receive one 8×10 photo print of their work. In general, the course will be aimed toward achieving creative, artful photographs.
Tuition for the class will be $125.00 for the two-day workshop. Students should bring a digital camera (No camera phones, please), and can also bring a tripod, a laptop computer, and Photoshop software. Classes will be held in the field, and at Ozarka College in Mountain View.
