Arkansas House delegation Votes unanimous to Reduce Federal Spending

WASHINGTON – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) today issued the following statement after voting for H. Res. 38, a resolution reducing non-security spending to fiscal year 2008 levels or less:

“Arkansans spoke loud and clear in November: they want our country to stop borrowing, spending and increasing our debt. Today’s vote starts the process to reduce spending to pre-stimulus levels – and beyond – and is a critical step toward getting our fiscal house in order. We have an obligation to our children and to future generations of Americans to reduce the deficit and pay down our national debt now.”

 H. Res. 38 passed by a vote of 256-165. The resolution earned unanimous bipartisan support of the Arkansas House delegation.
