Artoberfest Recap

The Batesville Area Arts Council hosted the 5th Annual Artoberfest, in combination with Main Street’s first Nightmare on Main Street Parade, Saturday, October 23. The festival featured over 25 local and regional artists and makers, an interactive splatter paint station, and live music by Ed Casper, The Sparrows, and Thisness. The festival also included a sidewalk chalk art competition and a coloring contest for kids of all ages.

The winners of 2021 Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest for K – 6th Grade include, 1st Place: Liam Brookshire (2nd grade), 2nd Place: Camden Brookshire (5th grade), 3rd Place: Sloane Hodges (2nd grade). The Junior High – College age winners include, 1st Place: Avery Henley (11th grade, BHS), 2nd Place: Addison Groetsch (7th grade, BJHS), 3rd Place: Gareth Brookshire (8th Grade, BJHS).

Students in grades pre-k through 12th grade participated in the Artoberfest Coloring Contest, and the winners were chosen by votes on our Facebook page. The 6th – 12th grade Coloring Contest winners included Avery Henley (1st place), Logan Warden (2nd Place), and Sarah Zellor (3rd place). The pre-K – 5th grade coloring contest winners are Emma Keister (1st place), Aubrey Duncan (2nd place), and Olivia Greer (3rd place).

We hope the community enjoyed this year’s Artoberfest and we look forward to the continued growth of this event each year! This year’s festival was sponsored by Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, and the Bank of Cave City.
