Arkansas State Employees Association to Honor State Employees at 45th Annual Convention

The Arkansas State Employees Association (ASEA) celebrates its 45th year of serving the state employees of Arkansas at Embassy Suites in Little Rock, Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th.

 

The overall theme of the convention is to address the needs of state employees with regards to their economic, mental and physical health. Friday morning, August 16th ASEA will host workshops centered on retirement, financial planning, healthy habits and stress management.

 

 

ASEA will host a banquet Friday night to highlight outstanding employees who demonstrate commitment and integrity while serving the State of Arkansas. ASEA will announce Arkansas’ Outstanding State Employee who will receive a $1000 cash prize. ASEA will also honor a State Representative or State Senator with the Legislator of the Year Award. The keynote speaker is Keith Jackson who will offer encouraging words to the unsung heroes of the State of Arkansas.

 

 

The presenting sponsor, Baptist Health, will host a workshop on stress management and healthy habits as well as provide screenings to attendees of the convention. Convention sponsors include Verizon, Purchasing Power and the Arkansas Employees Federal Credit Union. A portion of the sponsorship proceeds go to fund the John F. Motes Scholarship for state employees.

 

 

ASEA will also honor outstanding chapters and recruiters Saturday, August 17 during the convention luncheon.

 

 

“This is an opportunity to put Arkansas state employees in the spotlight. They are the people who teach, treat, and assist the citizens of Arkansas,” said Danny James, ASEA executive director. “It is truly an honor to work on their behalf.”
