ASU-Beebe to Broadcast Virtual Commencement Online May 9

BEEBE, Ark. – Arkansas State University-Beebe invites the community to view the 2020 Spring Virtual Commencement program online on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. Dr. Jennifer Methvin, ASU-Beebe Chancellor, said: “The Covid-19 health crisis created a challenge, but our Commencement Committee developed a plan to celebrate our graduates virtually and safely.  Please join our faculty, staff, and families in celebrating our spring graduates.”  ASU-Beebe will live-stream a broadcast via Youtube with all the same components of a traditional commencement ceremony, including the calling of graduates’ names, degrees, and honors.  Family and friends will be able to celebrate their student graduate during the broadcast in the “live chat” feature.  The program will be available on the ASU-Beebe YouTube channel at: www.youtube.com/ASU-Beebe. A quick link will also be available to access the broadcast from the ASU-Beebe website commencement page located at: http://www.asub.edu/commencement/index.aspx Families can also see a digital copy of the Spring 2020 Commencement program booklet on the commencement page. Additionally, the spring graduates were given the option to walk in the traditional graduation program during the fall commencement in December 2020. For information about ASU-Beebe degrees or certificates available, call (501) 882-3600 or view the website at www.asub.edu. Founded in 1927, Arkansas State University-Beebe is an operationally separate, two-year institution of the Arkansas State University System.
