BAAC’s Summer Celebration a Success

Batesville Area Arts Council’s annual Summer Celebration fundraiser was held on Saturday, June 18, at Lyon College’s Highland House presented by First Community Bank. The event surpassed its initial fundraising goal, raising more than $12,000 for the non-profit organization.

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of this community,” says Carly Dahl, BAAC Executive Director. “This was a record year for our Summer Celebration fundraiser and it would not have happened without the community’s support.” All proceeds from Summer Celebration will support BAAC’s mission to provide educational programs, art exhibitions, workshops, and community art projects in Batesville and the surrounding areas.

Event attendees enjoyed a gourmet dinner catered by Lyon College Dining Services, live music from Luke Middleton and The Natural Disasters – Sarah Jo Sample & John Park, and a silent auction featuring items donated by local artists and businesses. During the event, BAAC’s Executive Director, Carly Dahl, and Gallery Manager, Eliseo Casiano, awarded the 2022 BAAC Board Member of the Year award to Abby Perrine. Abby currently serves as the board’s secretary and was the Chair of the Summer Celebration planning committee. “Abby went well above and beyond to make sure the event was successful,” says Dahl, “we sincerely appreciate her hard work.”

BAAC would like to thank everyone who made this fundraiser a success, especially the event sponsors: First Community Bank, Intimidator Group, Wood Family Dealerships, University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, White River Health System, Centennial Bank, Lyon College, Lyon College Dining Services, and Batesville Printing.
