Batesville Area Arts Council To Present Kindred Art Exhibition

The Batesville Area Arts Council is pleased to present Kindred, an exhibition by Adrienne Callander, at the BAAC Gallery on Main (226 E Main St) September 1 – October 3, 2020. This is an interactive exhibition featuring one of Callander’s new projects, #littlesweaterhug, the artist’s socially engaged knit-based response to limited physical contact in the early days of Covid-19. Callander explaines, “In April of this year, as a lack of physical contact due to the COVID-19 shutdown started taking its toll, I asked rather whimsically if anyone could use a #littlesweaterhug. I was surprised by the number of requests!” To date, little sweater hugs have traveled to San Francisco; Boulder, CO; Harlem, NY; Louisville, KY; Starkville, MS; Tuscaloosa, AL; and throughout Northwest Arkansas, and now – Batesville. Stop by the gallery to see a collection of little sweater hugs, along with more of Callander’s work.  This exhibition is sponsored by First Community Bank. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
