Batesville Chamber and ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center to Offer Five Steps to Social Media Marketing Seminar

Is your small business’s marketing plan missing a vital link? If you are not using social media marketing to find and connect with potential customers, it very well may be. Thousands of small businesses in rural areas have found social media marketing networks such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter to be cost-effective 21st Century marketing tools that are helping them grow their customer base. But social media marketing has its own set of rules that a small business owner must understand in order to be effective.

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce with the ASU Small Business and Technology Development Center is offering a “Five Steps for Social Media Marketing Success” seminar on Wednesday, July 10 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce at 409 Vine St. in Batesville. The purpose of this workshop is to help area small businesses and organizations learn how to develop an effective social media marketing plan.

“For the ASU SBTDC, social media networking sites have proven to be very effective online tools that have helped us connect with small businesses, find new clients, and grow our revenue stream,” said Herb Lawrence, center director for the ASU SBTDC. “The real challenge for small businesses just getting involved is knowing the rules of the road for the social media networks they want to use. No social media network is a ‘silver bullet’ that will bring you thousands of customers just because you sign up to join it. Social media such as Facebook and Twitter require time and commitment, but the return on investment can be well worth the effort.”

The cost is $35 per person, $25 for Batesville Area Chamber and Main Street Batesville members, and $20 for UACCB faculty, staff, and students. Participants must register with the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 870-793-2378 or emailing mandi.curtwright@mybatesville.org.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Independence County Economic Development, Inc., Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, First National Banking Company, Liberty Bank of Arkansas, and Merchants and Planters Bank.
