Batesville’s Main Street Farmers Market Welcomes New Craft Vendors

The Main Street Farmers Market in Batesville is held the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month in the Pocket Park on Main Street in Batesville’s historic downtown district and runs from 8am ’til noon. The Saturday, August 20th, market day will feature 4 new craft vendors with handcrafted baskets, hand sewn and embroidered linens, hooked rugs, and art.

All local farmers sell at the Main Street Farmers Market and the August 20th market will include Garden Girl Farm Fresh Produce and More with Arkansas Grown peaches and apples and Garden Girl’s own okra and onions along with White River Creamery cheeses. Price Farm, Mahan Farm and Stewart Farm will also have their own produce for sale and will include fall and summer squash, tomatoes and okra. Brood Farm will have farm raised eggs and their own goat milk soaps and lotions. All produce is picked the day before the market and most farmers use sustainable practices with organic fertilizers and no chemical pesticides.

The Main Street Farmers Market also offers a wide variety of baked goods including a new vendor selling homemade Rock Candy. Downtown Pie Company and Rural Goods will both be at the August 20th market. Crafts and art will also be on sale at the market with handcrafted items from Home Made Home, In The Land of Wild Artists, artists Karen Barker and Sabina Burnett, Red Rooster Candles, Stephen Jeffrey Woodworks and others.

The Music at the Market Series will present live music starting around 9am and the Ozark Literacy Project will have children’s activities and reading time from 9:30 on.
