CHI St. Vincent, an Arkansas-based nonprofit health system with four hospitals and a network of clinics serving Central and Southwest Arkansas, will host a series of free, community blood pressure screening events in February in celebration of Heart Month. The free screenings in Little Rock, Hot Springs and Morrilton are part of a month-long effort to encourage Arkansans to take responsibility for their heart health. To do that, you need to Know Your Numbers. For blood pressure, that’s 120 and 80. You want your numbers to be below that or you may suffer from hypertension. Higher than 140 over 90 and you need to see a doctor.
To know your numbers, join one of CHI St. Vincent FREE blood pressure screenings in February:

Half of the men who die suddenly of coronary heart disease had no previous symptoms. That means one of the easiest ways to take charge of your heart health is to monitor your blood pressure at home. It’s easy to do and could mean the difference between a routine checkup and a trip to the emergency room.
