Citizens Bank to Host Downtown Block Party for Business After Hours

Citizens Bank will host a Business After Hours event on Tuesday, November 22 from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at the corner of Broad and Main streets. The event is part of the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours event series that are hosted quarterly in partnership with area businesses. The event will be a downtown block party featuring refreshments from Big’s, CIX Main, and The Pinto, all young food service businesses operating on Main Street in the historic district of Batesville.

Citizens Bank is hosting the event, “to provide opportunities for chamber members to become better acquainted, and to create a special event atmosphere in which Batesville business people can meet each other, enjoy an evening of fellowship, and discuss issues relevant to them and the community. We also wanted to host an event to help promote new downtown businesses and the historic district in general,” says Phil Baldwin, CEO of Citizens Bank.

Baldwin, who was recently honored with Arkansas Business’s CFO Lifetime Achievement award, will address guests sharing more information about the IMPACT Loan and Grant program, which was released earlier this year to stimulate the downtown economy and promote historic downtown redevelopment. The program offered $10 million in low-interest rate loans and $100,000 in grant funds.

Citizens Bank staff have been hard at work planning for the block party later this month. “We have arranged for Main Street to be closed between Broad and Central streets. We have coordinated with BIG’S, CIX Main and The Pinto, who have agreed to provide food items from their respective menus for the evening. We hope to see a variety of faces from our business community in a casual and fun atmosphere,” says Ashley Engles, Business Development Coordinator.
