SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding University College of Pharmacy will welcome 24 students to its third annual pharmacy summer camp June 19-24 on campus. Students are attending from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. The camp provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to explore the pharmacy profession through classes, hands-on learning experiences and other activities. Activities include pharmaceutical laboratory experiences, group health and wellness projects, games and recreation, professional shadowing, and an introduction by Harding pharmacy faculty to curriculum and current topics in the field. Some of the camp class topics include preparing to become a pharmacy technician, diabetes prevention and treatment, CSI: forensic fingerprinting, and others.
