This week, Darlene Byrd officially filed her paperwork to run for State Representative in House District 43 as a Republican.
“This week marks the beginning of a new journey – one that will be long and hard, but one that will be worth it. I have spent my professional life helping and advocating for the people of Arkansas who are sick and in need of care, and I want to continue that service in Little Rock. I want to use my years of experience in the healthcare field to fight back against an intrusive federal government, and work to usher in true healthcare reform. Our system is broken, but the answers do not rely inside of our government,” Byrd said.
“Since announcing my candidacy a few months ago, I have been meeting with folks across District 43 as I tell them about my belief that all life is sacred, that lower taxes create a strong economy, and that education begins at home. Their responses have been very encouraging, and I look forward to representing them as we fight for a government that works for the people, and not the other way around.”
