Faulkner County Man Sentenced to Prison for DWI Hit and Run

A local man has been sentenced to a Regional Correctional Facility as a result of a DWI hit and run.
Glenn Arnold Western, age 50, was charged by 20th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Marcus Vaden with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Violation of Omnibus DWI Act I, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage, Driving while License Suspended or Revoked, Obstructing Governmental Operations, Insurance Required-Minimum Coverage, and Careless and Prohibited Driving.
On August 2, 2010 law enforcement responded to a call about a hit and run accident on Seibenmorgen Road in Faulkner County. Witnesses identified Mr. Western as the individual driving a gray SUV following another vehicle on Seibenmorgen. When the first vehicle pulled over to let Western pass, Western crossed the white line and hit the stopped vehicle. Western did not stop after the collision and continued on until his SUV overheated.
When officers arrived, they observed Mr. Western’s behavior and determined that he may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. They conducted field sobriety tests which Mr. Western failed. Officers also located cocaine on Mr. Western during a search.
Western appeared in Faulkner County Circuit Court on October 18, 2010 at which time he pled guilty and was sentenced to 4 years in a Regional Correctional Facility.
“Hopefully, Mr. Western’s time spent incarcerated will allow him the opportunity to rehabilitate himself so he will not be a danger to the public in the future”, said Vaden
