Faulkner County SPCA finds a buddy in BOGO

The Faulkner County SPCA has found a new “friend” in its mission to help families care for their pets. The group has become a designated buddy with BOGO Bowl, a new brand of dog food with goal of helping shelters, rescues and pet pantries.

BOGO Bowl is healthy, high quality dog food that is not only a nutritious choice for at-home pets, but works to solve a serious problem. According to the Humane Society of the United States, animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. Shelters and pet food pantries are in need of food and more efforts need to be taken to keep animals at home. That’s where BOGO Bowl comes in. BOGO stands for “buy one, give one”.

With every purchase of BOGO Bowl dog food, a matching bag of food will be given to The Pet Project. This is quite the incentive for dog lovers who also want to support caregivers in the community.

“No family should have to give up their pet because they can’t afford food. No shelter animal should have to be put to sleep because the shelter is low on food,” says BOGO Bowl founder and pet advocate, Sara Henderson. “Our model makes it easy for people that share our desire to help dogs to give back and make a difference.”

Faulkner County SPCA stands by its motto: Where it’s all about the animals.
Lydia H Grier, director of FCSPCA, says, “This partnership will help many needy animals and their families in our area. Due to the drought we are being affected by at this time and the rising cost of pet food this partnership will be vital for many families that will not be able to afford pet food.
