Federal Grant Awarded to Heber Springs for Infrastructure Improvement

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) announces a $1.4 million federal grant allocated to Heber Springs for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements. The grant originates from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) and will assist in rebuilding Cleburne County’s wastewater system that was damage by storms, floods, and tornadoes in 2008.

“Heber Springs and Cleburne County met a serious challenge rebuilding after the storms of 2008,” said Congressman Rick Crawford.  “I am happy the Economic Development Administration released funds to help Heber Springs improve its infrastructure against future storms.  The money will be invested in the private sector to not only improve infrastructure but also create local jobs in Cleburne County.”

The EDA estimates the grant will create 310 jobs and leverage $16.5 million in private investments.
