Former Harding University Professor Receives Honorary Degree

Gordon Hogan, a former Harding faculty member, was surprised with an honorary degree at the University’s commencement Saturday, Dec. 17. Hogan was presented with the Doctor of Law degree.

From 1968 to 1974, Hogan was president of Four Seas College of Bible and Missions in Singapore. This program trained preachers and church leaders for congregations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, China, Japan and other areas of Southeast Asia. From 1994 to 2009, he was a member of Harding’s College of Bible and Religion, inspiring and encouraging young people to commit their lives to evangelism in foreign nations. He has led student summer campaigns to Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

He frequently preaches at congregations in Arkansas; speaks at mission workshops; and counsels and trains individuals, young couples and teams interested in worldwide missions. He has contributed much to worldwide evangelism and has shown strong commitment to the work at Harding.
