Free Ozark Travel Guide Now Available

The 2009 edition of the Ozark Gateway vacation guide has just been published and copies are available to the public free of charge, according to Cathy Drew, executive director of the non-profit organization.
“The full-color magazine is packed with vacation destination ideas, historic locations, shopping trips, outdoor adventures, restaurant guides and more,” she adds. The 48-page booklet also includes feature articles about the Gateway area, including Independence, Stone, Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, Fulton, Izard and Sharp counties.
“We continually receive compliments from near and far about the guide,” Drew says. “It has information on attractions, parks, museums, caverns, hiking, camping, plus sections on lodging, relocation plans and real estate needs.  Having all their questions answered in one guide is very helpful to both local and visiting travelers.”  The guide also offers a comprehensive events calendar for the entire year.
“Most people get the guide in time to study and plan their trips, and then brings it along with them to make it easy to see all the places and events in the area,” Drew explains.
Ozark Gateway has been serving north-central Arkansas for almost 40 years. A board of volunteers representing each county directs the programs, which are approved by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
The new guide is available free on-line at www.ozarkgateway.com; or by calling 1-800-264-0316.  “We will mail the guide out to anyone making a request,” Drew adds. “We feel that everyone interested in our part of the state will enjoy the 2009 edition.”
