Gilbert Baker will be in Searcy, Heber Springs, Mountain View, Marshall,Mountain Home, Flippin, and Harrison

United States Senate Candidate Gilbert Baker announced the cities included in the Baker for U.S. Senate “No Bailouts Bus Tour” scheduled for Apr. 28, 2010 – May 1, 2010. The tour will highlight his campaign message that big government bailouts are wrong and he opposes any and all bailouts. Baker will collect signatures on his trademark blue tarp to reflect the opposition to the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) bank bailout.

“People are angry that members of Congress used the TARP bank bailout to reward failing banks,” Baker said. “The federal government should not be picking winners and losers.”
Baker’s opponent in the U.S. Senate race, Cong. John Boozman voted for the TARP bank bailouts.

“I have asked Congressman Boozman to join me in pledging not to support future government bailouts,” Baker said. “I have yet to hear a response.”
