Griffin Announces White County Chairman

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today announced longtime White County resident and civic leader Gary Laney as campaign chairman for White County.

As chairman, Laney will head the effort to organize, mobilize and communicate with White County voters to build grassroots support for Tim Griffin as the next Second District Congressman.

“I am honored to have Gary on our team,” Griffin said. “He is a leader in the community and will be an important asset as we reach out to voters in White County who want a congressman that will protect Arkansans and the Fayetteville Shale Play by opposing the cap and trade energy tax.”

“I believe in the policies that Tim Griffin is actively supporting, and I feel the need to have a part in impacting the futures of my children and grandchildren,” Laney said. “I know Tim will work hard to change the direction this country is headed. He can provide the common sense conservative leadership needed to help America get on the right course during this critical time in our history.

“As a fellow veteran, I also know the importance of having one of our own in Congress,” Laney said. “We need someone like Tim fighting for veterans and all the families of Central Arkansas.”

Laney has lived in White County for 26 years and is currently a business development officer at First Community Bank in Searcy. A former manager with Entergy Corporation, Laney completed his 33-year career with the company in 2003. He currently serves on the Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Career Path Advisory Board at Arkansas State University, Searcy.

Laney served honorably in the United States Army Reserve and Arkansas National Guard, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He serves on Little Rock Air Force Base Community Council, and previously served on the LRAFB Executive Council. Laney is currently an Honorary Commander at LRAFB.
