Griffin: The Fight Is Not Over, (Health Care) Law Must Be Repealed

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the motion to concur in Senate amendments to H.R. 3590, the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” and passed H.R. 4872, the “Reconciliation Act of 2010”:

“Today’s vote for the Obama-Pelosi health care bill is a vote for more government control, higher taxes and more government debt that Americans will have to work harder and harder to pay, all at a time when our economy is at its most fragile.  Speaker Pelosi and the bill’s proponents have demonstrated that they will tax and spend whatever it takes to achieve their political agenda.  This bill is not about better health care; it is about government control.  Now, more than ever, we need to elect a new conservative majority. The fight is not over. As your congressman, I will help lead the conservative effort to repeal more government control and higher taxes while working toward real market-based reform that lowers costs and maintains our quality of care. I urge the candidates in this race from Speaker Pelosi’s party to join me in this pledge.”
