Harding University Assistant Professor of Computer Science Scott Ragsdale will be featured in the first issue of the Journal of Applied Learning Technology with his article “The Complex and Motivating Factors that Affect Faculty Adoption of Online Teaching.”
The article seeks to advise administrators on the benefits and disadvantages of online teaching with the goal of informing their selection of faculty for online classes.
“Online course offerings from colleges and universities are growing at an astounding rate, but it has proven to be difficult in persuading college professors, whose teaching experiences have been exclusively face-to-face, to teach online; thus there is a dilemma,” Ragsdale said.
Ragsdale is currently working on his doctorate in computing technology in education at NOVA Southeastern University and was selected for publication by a professor in the program who believed his article would be informative to professionals in the emerging field of online program administration.
