Harding to Host Open Auditions for Children’s Roles in Homecoing Musical

Harding University’s theatre department has announced that they will hold auditions for children’s roles in the University’s Homecoming production “Shrek, the Musical.” This production will be performed on Oct. 29, 31 and November 1 in the Benson Auditorium on campus.

The roles open to girls will be Young Fiona and Teen Fiona. These are both singing roles. Young Shrek and the Dwarf are the roles open to boys. These are both acting roles with no singing required. Child roles have only one scene each in the show.

Auditions are open to all students in public, private and home schools in the Searcy area. No preference will be given to any particular school. Those who audition must be between the ages of 8 and 18, be 5’6” tall or shorter, and be good students.

To audition, interested participants must come by the bulletin board on the second floor of the Reynolds Music and Communication Building on Harding’s campus before Thursday, Aug. 28 to sign up for an audition time slot and to pick up an audition packet for the appropriate role.
