Harding University Homecoming weekend offers various line-up of activities

Harding University will have its annual Homecoming celebration themed “You are all we need…” on Oct. 27-29. It will be full of activities for alumni and visiting families, as well as current and future students.
 
Thursday, Oct. 27
The Heritage Circle Banquet will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Founders Room. Golden, Emerald, Platinum and Platinum Plus Circles Induction and Reunion will honor a number of classes. This year’s inductees receive two free tickets, and other members of the Heritage Circle may purchase their tickets for $15.
 
The Lady Bisons volleyball team will play Arkansas Tech in the Rhodes Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
 
Friday, Oct. 28
Good News Singers will perform in front of the Benson Auditorium at 4 p.m. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of spirituals, southern gospels, devotional songs, original tunes and traditional hymns.
 
The Bison Bash and Band will be held at 10:45 p.m. at the soccer practice field. Enjoy music and s’mores after the musical with friends and family.
 
Saturday, Oct. 29
The Bison Stampede 5K Run will be held in front of the Student Center. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m. in front of the Student Center. The cost is $15, and each participant will receive a T-shirt. Contact jdyingling@harding.edu for more information.
 
Be the Match Bone Marrow Drive will be on campus from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. to gain more donors in their registry. There are no needles involved, and the entire process takes 15 minutes. They will be located in the Ganus Athletic Center.
 
There will be a petting zoo and inflatable games in front of the Ganus Athletic Center from 10:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Children and adults of all ages are invited to have fun with farm animals, pony rides and inflatable activities.
 
The Harding singing group Belles and Beaux will be performing in the Administration Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Their show will feature music genres from pop to country, classic and current hits. They travel throughout the nation showcasing their many musical talents.
 
The Harding Homecoming Showcase will be held from 12:00-2:30 p.m. in the Ganus Athletic Center. Visit booths for information and items for sale from departments, groups, vendors and social clubs on campus.
 
The Bison Football team will play Ouachita Baptist University at 3 p.m. at First Security Stadium. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $10 for reserved seats. Fans are encouraged to wear black and gold to support the team and join the X-Treme Tailgate outside the stadium. Attendees can bring grills to cook or enjoy ARAMARK’s grilled burgers and hot dogs.
 
Reunions and family picnics for various classes, social clubs and departments will be held throughout the weekend.
 
Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29
The Homecoming musical is “Annie,” featuring Harding Academy student Abbey Giboney as the lead role. Performances will be in the Benson Auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced $10, $12 or $15 depending on seat location. Audience members are welcome to join the cast, crew and orchestra after the show for a complimentary coffee hour in the student center. Thursday, Oct. 27-Sunday Oct. 30
