Harding Welcomes Record Number of Prospective Students For Fall Preview

Harding University welcomed a record number of prospective students to campus Monday, Sept. 3 for fall preview. More than 800 high school juniors and seniors and their parents came to campus to experience a typical day at Harding.

Fall preview, always scheduled on Labor Day, allows visitors to see what a real college school day looks like. Students were given the opportunity to attend a wide variety of classes in multiple academic colleges. At the start of the day, participants were given a schedule of classes they could visit and major-specific appointments they could attend.

In addition to attending as many classes that fit in their schedule, students also were able to attend chapel, have lunch in Heritage Cafeteria, tour the campus in its entirety, and view both men’s and women’s residence halls. Each activity the University provided sought to give students a clear idea of what Harding life is like.

Approximately 747 applications have already been received for fall 2013 — more than 10 percent from over a year ago. Harding expects another record undergraduate enrollment for fall 2013 and will only have 1,300 new student positions available. To avoid being placed on a wait list, qualified high school students and possible transfers are encouraged to begin the application process soon, as capacity for 2013 will mirror that of this year.

Harding is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France, Greece, Italy and Zambia. For more information visit www.harding.edu.
