Improvements Require Overnight Lane Closures on New Hope Road in Rogers

Construction on Interstate 49 requires overnight lane closures on New Hope Road, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

On Thursday night, June 1, crews will be working on the I-49 overpass at New Hope Road (Exit 83). The closure will alternately close inside and outside lanes of eastbound and westbound New Hope Road between South Pinnacle Hills Parkway and South Promenade Boulevard.

Weather permitting, the lane closures will occur between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 1. Advance warning signs and barrels will direct traffic flow. Mainline lanes on I-49 will not be affected.

This project (Job CA0901) is part of AHTD’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from
Highway 264 in Lowell to New Hope Road in Rogers, and it is expected to complete in late 2017. More information on this $38.7 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
