Improvements to U.S. Highway 67 Requires Traffic Shift in Pulaski and Lonoke Counties

Construction work on U.S. Highway 67 in Pulaski and Lonoke Counties requires a traffic shift onto a temporary road, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

To continue with construction, northbound and southbound traffic on TP White will be relocated to a temporary road. The temporary road begins approximately 1/2 mile North of Vandenberg Dr. and returning to TP White about 1/2 mile South of Jacks Bayou bridges. Northeastern Avenue traffic is encouraged to use Madden Drive when accessing TP White. This lane shift allows for the phased construction of the new box culvert in the area of Northeastern Avenue.

This transition will occur Friday morning, June 9, weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using traffic barrels and warning signs. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zones.

This project (Job CA0605) is part of AHTD’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 67 from Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville to State Highway 5 in Cabot. The highway is being widened to three lanes in each direction. More information on this $79.2 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
